Is there a specific software you need to operate the DR700/DR710?

Yes. The DR700 and DR710 can both read and validate frozen racks of tubes.

The DR700 and DR710 rack readers use CCD imaging technology to capture the 2D Data-Matrix codes on the bottom of sample storage tubes. The DR700/DR710 side barcode reader also uses CCD imaging technology to capture 1D rack barcodes.

The DR700 and DR710 can scan a rack of tubes in 7 seconds or a single tube in 2 seconds.

The DR700 and DR710 rack readers can validate 2D Data-Matrix coded tubes. When paired with a matching side barcode reader, 1D rack barcodes can be scanned and validated as well.

Unlike the DR500, the DR505 has a passive anti-frost system that can be used to read frozen racks of tubes.

The DR500 and DR505 rack readers are compatible with 96-well, 48-well, and 24-well format tubes and racks from various brands.

The DR505 has a passive anti-frost system that can read racks of 2D coded tubes straight from the freezer.

The HT500 can hold up to 20 96-well ANSI/SLAS format racks from Micronic. During each run, at least one target rack and one source rack must be specified. Contact us to learn more about the compatibility with other rack brands.

The HT500 is compatible with the following 96-well format tubes from Micronic: 0.30ml, 0.40ml, 0.50ml, 0.75ml, 0.80ml, 1.10ml and 1.40ml. Contact us to learn more about the compatibility with other tube brands.

The HT500 can pick and place up to 400 sample storage tubes per hour.

Yes. Customers can use a USB stick to load a “pick list” from a LIMS system into the HT500. The HT500 will then pick and place the desired tubes into the target rack(s). At the end of the run, users can export the rack content in a CSV file.

The HT700 can hold up to 24 96-well ANSI/SLAS format source racks and 1-3 96-well ANSI/SLAS format target racks. Because of its cassette design, the HT700 allows for short distances between the source racks and target racks. This shorter distance facilitates a faster sorting process compared to other more platform-based units.

The HT700 is compatible with the following 96-well format tubes from Micronic: 0.30ml, 0.40ml, 0.50ml, 0.75ml, 0.80ml, 1.10ml and 1.40ml. Contact us to learn more about the compatibility with other tube brands.

The HT700 can pick and place up to 550 samples storage tubes per hour.

Yes. A “pick list” generated from a LIMS system can be loaded into the HT700 via a USB stick. The HT700 will then pick and place the desired tubes into the target rack(s). At the end of the run, users can export the rack content in a CSV file.

Laser Markers

The Lambda8 can laser-etch a variety of labware like sample storage tubes, ANSI/SLAS format rack, caps, and microscope slides. It can also laser-etch materials like aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium.

Yes. The Lambda8 can laser-etch tubes filled with samples.

Yes. The Lambda8 can laser-etch tubes straight from the freezer.

The Lambda8 can laser-etch 1 tube in approximately 1-3 seconds. Throughput depends on two things: the number of tubes in the adapter and the amount of information being etched onto each tube. Please note: the time needed to manually pick and place tubes into the adapter is not included in this approximation.

Tubes must have at least one opaque wall to be compatible with the Lambda8.

The Lambda8 only laser-etches the tube surface, so there’s no risk to the sample within the tube.

Yes. The software included with the Lambda8 is comprehensive and has the option to connect/refer to other programs and/or lists (e.g. Excel).

Since the Lambda8 "burns" into the plastic of each tube, the air must be extracted and cleaned during operation.

The Lambda576 can hold up to 6 ANSI/SLAS format racks of sample storage tubes at once.

Once the user places each rack into the Lambda576, a gripper arm selects a tube and carries it to the camera. The camera detects the laser-friendly part of the tube, and then the gripper arm positions the tube in front of the laser. The laser etches a permanent marking onto the tube, and then the gripper arm returns it to its original position in the rack. The gripper arm picks up the next tube and repeats this process for every tube in the unit.

The Lambda576 can laser etch various markings, including: 2D codes, 1D barcodes, logos, text, or sample IDs.

The CXT 353 can core a wide range of sample types including tissue, feces, serum, plasma, whole blood, urine, and other biofluids.

The CXT 353 can be used in several areas of research within the life science industry. Research areas include: bioanalysis to preserve biomolecular integrity, microbiome research to preserve integrity of fecal samples, molecular pathology to enhance tissue processing, and biobanking to increase sample utility and access to rare samples.

The CXT 353 works with a wide range of tubes and sample containers. Adapters can be customized to fit individual tube/container types.

The CXT 353 can extract up to 5 frozen aliquots from a single 2.00ml vial.

The LN2 tank is a 5-liter tank – it holds up to 4 liters of LN2.

Once the instrument is up to temperature, you have a working time of 1 hour before the next fill.

No. The serrated edges of the coring probe lose their sharpness after 1 core. This means that consecutive cores will become jagged and more difficult to eject.

It takes approximately 1 minute to core a sample. This includes the time it takes to hit the core bottom and then deposit the core in the destination tube.

No, the sample will not thaw inside the coring probe. Since both the probes and parent samples are kept at -80C, there is not enough time or temperature difference to thaw the partial sample during extraction.
