That’s why we take steps every year to reduce our CO₂ emissions and compensate for any unavoidable emissions.
Our Ambition: CO₂ Neutrality
At NBS Scientific, sustainability is one of our four core values. Each year, we work to minimize our CO₂ emissions as much as possible and offset any remaining emissions. Thanks to this ongoing effort, we have already been CO₂-neutral for three years in scope 1 and 2, and partly in scope 3 emissions.
To achieve this, we are partnering this year with ORCA, an organization that supports high-quality, certified climate projects, both in the Netherlands and internationally.
As part of this collaboration, we recently visited Van Werven in Flevoland, a certified ORCA climate project fully dedicated to plastic recycling. During our visit, we got a unique behind-the-scenes look and learned how plastic is processed and prepared for reuse, a tangible example of circularity in action.
The recycling processes at Van Werven contribute significantly to CO₂ reduction. By processing plastics in a structured and efficient way, the environmental impact is reduced, and a circular chain is created in which materials can be reused.

Reuse of raw materials: ewer new materials need to be extracted, preserving natural resources.
Reduction of waste incineration: less plastic waste being burned means directly lower CO₂ emissions and fewer harmful substances.
