While requiring only 85 nano-watts of laser power to get a clear image
The RCM1 system enables you to study your live cells in super-resolution while keeping the laser power very low. It is a highly sensitive system, meaning that it can focus on the cells you are studying while removing background noise and reducing unwanted blur. Next to this, the RCM1 captures high-resolution imaging which makes sure you won’t lose any valuable data of your samples.
The RCM1 system is based on the Re-scan Confocal Microscope (RCM) principle. This is where the RCM1 draws its powers from. In this principle, the image gets optically re-scanned within the RCM1 module and projects the image directly on a CCD or sCMOS camera. The results in a high resolution and highly sensitive imaging, which is exceptionally suitable for challenging biological applications where for example the signal is limited.
With the RCM1 module attached to your widefield microscope, you can capture datasets with 170nm raw resolution (120nm after deconvolution) by using 60x to 100x high numerical aperture (NA) magnification objectives.
You also don’t need a high laser power, because the RCM1 acquires super-resolution images with only 85 nano-watts of laser power. This will result in low phototoxicity of your cells.
The RCM1 also has a NIR version. This version allows you to obtain deep tissue biomedical imaging, which is achieved because of the much higher sensitivity in the near-infrared wavelengths than other systems on the market. The RCM1 can operate on 640nm and 785nm wavelengths and because these wavelengths are much longer, this will result in even less phototoxicity of your samples. This all while you can penetrate your biological samples much better.
The RCM1 System is very easy to use and user-friendly. It requires little setup time and integrates seamlessly into most widefield microscopes and 3rd party software.
